Notts County have sacked manager Harry Kewell after just 10 weeks in charge, the League Two club have confirmed.Kewell, the former Australia international, was appointed boss on August 31 to replace Kevin Nolan. However, after guiding County to wins in just three of 14 matches in all competitions, chairman Alan Hardy has decided to axe the former Leeds and Liverpool player.A statement published by the club read: “Notts County have parted company with first-team manager Harry Kewell.“The Australian leaves his role with immediate effect, along with assistant manager Warren Feeney and first-team analyst Paul Murphy.” Hardy added: “Harrys passion and commitment as a coach is unquestionable.“I enjoyed seeing first-hand his love for the job and it gives me absolutely no pleasure to take that away from him.“Unfortunately, however, things quite simply were not working out for him here at Meadow Lane.“Results have not been good enough and performance levels are a continuing concern. We see no reason to continue with something we dont think can work.”Kewell leaves with Notts County third from bottom in the League Two table, seven points ahead of last-placed Macclesfield.
