Liverpool legend John Barnes confident the Reds will win the Premier League title this season
John Barnes is confident Liverpool will end their long wait for a Premier League title this season.The Anfield legend believes Jurgen Klopps men have handled the pressure better than defending champions Manchester City this season and are in a great position heading into the second-half of the campaign.5

The Reds, who are still unbeaten in the league, currently sit six points clear at the top of the table.City have slipped to third and are seven points adrift of Liverpool after a blip in form, losing back-to-back games against Crystal Palace and Leicester.Barnes was part of the Reds side which last won a league championship in 1990.5

Speaking to talkSPORT, the former England international hailed the change of mentality at Anfield under Klopp and believes they will lift the trophy if they continue their good record against their top rivals.Ahead of Saturdays home clash against Arsenal, and with an away trip to Man City on the horizon, Barnes told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: Liverpool have handled the pressure and Man City probably havent.

Last season we remember how fantastic Man City were and I always thought, how would they cope when the pressure was on?The two times you can say a bit of pressure was on was against Manchester United at home to win the league, which they didnt win, and of course in the Champions League against Liverpool.5

City wasted their chance to win the Premier League title against rivals Man United last season. They were 2-0 up but ended up losing 3-2 at the Etihad.

When everything is going well for Manchester City, when theyre top of the league comfortably with no pressure, I think theyre the best team in the world.But from a character point of view they have struggled in their last two games.I think the opposite of Liverpool. With Jurgen Klopp and the demands he puts on those players, regardless of its a big game or a smaller game, they perform.5

Liverpool have yet to lose in the Premier League this season
