It is claimed Tottenham have been informing potential commercial partners that the station will be renamed, despite the club refusing to pay a multi-million pound fee for the privilege.Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, is understood to have demanded Spurs pay more than 14.7million to change the station’s name after a third-party valuation. Tottenham challenged this valuation, and it appears the north London club eventually won the argument, though the mayor’s office insist talks remain ongoingA spokesperson for the London mayor told the Guardian: “The mayor does not support setting a precedent of selling off station names.
